Why we need trees.

We have innumerable reasons, but I'm sure this is one of them. Sometimes I look around me at the garbage strewn around, at the strays, at the unsmiling faces. Sometimes I'm down. And then I say to myself, "Look up."

(These are pictures I took one sunny Sunday afternoon in early March, walking home. These trees, and more like them, form a canopy all the way down my street).

Thank you. We could all do with that reminder occasionally. And I am in awe of trees. There's one near us (which Alan Lee used as the basis of Old Man Willow) which I really wanted to be with when I was in labour. But, quite sensibly, no-one let me go wandering out on a freezing February night. Trees mark many of my important life stages. And, of course, they are beautiful.

That sure looks beautiful...you're lucky to be staying in such a green part of the city! Bangalore is a lovely place...have always enjoyed my visits there.
I got directed to your blog through the link on your bookcrossing profile page. Are you still active there? there are hardly any active Indian BCers, and I'd love my books to travel in India...I'd be happy to send you a book from my 'available' shelf if you like?
Lemme know by replyin to this comment, or droppin me a line at prachitulshan at hotmail dot com.
Cheers!

Hi Prachi, I stopped bookcrossing cos I realised we seem to be a city of hoarders .. so once the books are picked up, it looks like they get glued to someone's bookshelf, never to move on. Instead, I just donate books to the LSP home so that they can sell them there at their annual fete.
